The men of "The Avengers" and why we love them?

So aside from being one of the biggest (and possibly best) films to grace the big screen this year "The Avengers" as you may have noticed, as well as being full of awesome is also full of some serious eye candy. Come on, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr in the same film? AND with the option of seeing it in 3D? You'd be crazy not to see it. Now myself I'm a fan of the characters who aren't immediately thought of when mentioning The Avengers "franchise", Hawkeye, Loki and Bruce Banner (NOT the hulk). So why we do we love them so?

Wait, aren't you Johnny Storm?
Red, white and blue never looked so good
First up, the First Avenger. Captain Steve Rogers aka Captain America.
First of all he's from the 1940's so he's a little old fashioned, but who doesn't love a little vintage? He has adorable puppy eyes and the most kick ass shield ever created! He's determined to fight for his country and after being infused with a "super serum" he's certainly no pansy! But even after spending 70 years on ice and pretty much becoming the worlds first superhero (in the marvel film universe at least ¬.¬) he still hasn't forgotten his manners and is still a 1940's gentleman to the core. Not forgetting the fact that he's probably the only one who could wear an outfit like that and make it look good.

Awesome hand lasers, CHECK!
Next up, the genius, playboy, philanthropist himself Mr Tony Stark aka Iron Man.Okay, so did we mention he's a genius, playboy philanthropist? He's crazy smart, filthy rich and has a computer voiced by Jude law, what's not to like? Sure he has a hole in his chest with a powerful self generating energy source to power an electromagnet to stop pieces of shrapnel travelling to and entering his heart but who doesn't like their man a little vulnerable? He has a tower with his name on, he's brilliant for a laugh and oh yeah, HE CAN FLY AND SHOOT LASERS FROM HIS HANDS! Just don't forget he doesn't like to be handed things. Also, not sure its a fantastic idea to have him around magnets or microwaves.

So our next Avenger is a god. Literally...a fricken god. The god of Thunder (and buff arms) Thor. With his lovely long golden locks, that rugged facial hair, the buffest arms in all of Asghard and his massive....Mjölnir? Although a giant jerk of jerks to begin with, the newly reformed Thor is the perfect guy to bring home to meet your folks, just make sure they hide the good china and nail all tables down incase of a temper tantrum (or if he likes their coffee?) Joking aside (hard to do with that winged helm and that velverty red drapes cape, i know) once he gets over his self centered-ness and isn't thinking about how far superior he is to humans, he's actually quite a nice guy. Just try not to mention his brother.

Do you like a guy with a wild side? Someone on the run? Someone with really well controlled anger issues (most of the time?) Someone who's also incrediably smart too? If so Doctor Bruce Banner could be the one for you! Yes he may on occasion turn into a green rage monster but who can resist the sexy science talk and that adorable quiet, baggy clothed vibe he's got going on?
Although apparently you wouldn't like him when he's angry.

I can not tell you how much i just enjoyed searching the internet for all the pictures i could find of Hawkeye. How can i pick just the one? I'm rather bias here as Mr Clint Barton aka Hawkeye is actually my favourite Avenger but how am i meant to pick just one picture of him? Answer... i pick many. So Hawkeye isn't enhanced with a super serum, he's not crazy smart or rich and he's not a god. But DAMN he's got some mad skills with a bow, with which he can fight with at close range AND not actually have to aim at his
Hawkeye film please.
target to hit them. Also after the whole "mind control by Loki" thing he's a little damaged and got a sexy revenge look about him. And need i again mention the mad bow skills? Wish the poor guy had gotten more screen time, perhaps we could have a Hawkeye film in the near future?

Sadly my confused fangirl-ness doesn't end with Hawkeye. He's not a member of The Avengers but he defiently deserves a mention as i know i'm not the only Loki fangirl out there!

Loki's just misunderstood. He may come across a bit crazy but he just wants to have fun (and get revenge on his brother because he's adopted dad loves him more...) having a jerk like Thor for a brother and being overlooked even though YOU'RE the intelligent one AND THEN finding out you're a friggin frost giant reject would make anyone a little pissed and lets be honest, no harm no foul right? Its not as if anyone died? Oh...right...Well who can resist that adorable grin? And the most amazing voice ever?
